Subject: Notes 8 on IBM Open Client Linux system
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes 8 Client
Technical Area: Error Message
Platform: Linux
Release: 8.0.1
Reproducible: Always

I just installed IBM Open Client Linux and it came
with Lotus Notes 8. After I setup the environment, I can't access my mail database. The error message
is 'unable to find path to server. Check that your network connection is working'. I know my network is working because I have no problem to use Sametime. So I went to check the Connection from Contact,
open up my mail connection and discover that on the Basic tab, when I select Connection Type as
Local Area Network, on the Use LAN port: area, it only has one checkobx and nothing after the checkbox. (On Windows, it has TCPIP after that).
And that was the problem that I can't access my mail database. I also do the trace (from File-->Preference-->Notes Ports and enter my mail database IP address). Below is the trace info:

Determining path to server 9.17.195.172
Available Ports:
Checking normal priority connection documents only...
Allowing wild card connection documents...
Enabling name service requests and probes...
Checking low and normal priority connection documents...
No default passthru server defined
Unable to find any path to 9.17.195.172 because Unable to find path to server. Check that your network connection is working. If you have a working connection, go to Preferences - Notes Ports and click Trace to discover where it breaks down.

You can see that after Available Ports: , there is nothing. I did the same trace on window, and it shows TCPIP. Is this a known defect? I am using Notes8 Release 8.0.1, Revision 20080214.1630(Release 8.0.1). Is there a workaround? Or should I reinstall Notes8?
Thanks for any help in advance!

Thanks,
Hsin-Liang
